Hello everyone, I am mori sejal. I am studying B. A with english at government arts college talaja. I talk about  celebration of On the occasion of 'guru purnima'.

 गुरुब्रह्म गुरुविष्णु:गुरुर्देवो महेश्वर:।

Guru purnima is sacred festival celebrated in India and nepal and bhutan by hindus and Buddhists .honor spiritual and academic teacher. Observed on the full moon day of ashadha month in the hindu calender. It is dedicated to expressing gratitude to gurus for the their guidance and wisdom. The day is significant in various spiritual traditional including hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.
This day is also the birthday of ved vyas, the author of Mahabharata. He was a great scholar of sanskrit.

Teacher can change lives with just the right mix of chalk and challenges...

In the scriptures, the meaning of 'gu'  explained as darkness or basic ignorance and the meaning of ' ru' is explained as its remover. Guruis called guru because he removes the darkness of ignore with the lamp of knowledge.

A small program was organized at our  college. I would like to share a few things about it here.

On the occasion of  guru purnima,  the program began with a short prayer. The principal of our college, Dr. Manisha madam was also present at the event, along with all faculty members.

Dr. Manisha madamof welcomed with bouquet of flowers. After that, the program officially began. On this occasion, manisha madam share A few thoughts about gurupurnima. She spoke about the relationship between a disciple and a teacher, explaining that a guru is someone from whom we learn something. That person may be young or old, but if  we gain knowledge from them, They are considered a teacher. She also gave a wonderful example of Socrates. She explained that the more we think we know about ourselves, the more there is yet to learn.

After than, Dr. Pandya sir share a few thoughts. He said that a guru is such a person who can never be measured. He gave the best example of guru vishnu sharma and his disciples. Vishnu sharma taught his disciples by behaving like them and teaching them in a way they could understand. Based on this example, panya sir taught us something a new creating our mind.

After that, a elocution competition was organized in the program. In this   competition , students of the college delivered speech on various topics related to guru purnima. All the participate spoke very well. The panel of judges for the competition included vyas sir, bhaliya sir and hina ma'am. We learned frome these three judges that in life, every decision should be made thoughtfully and wish in life.

Thus, on the occasion of guru purnima, a very beautiful program was organized in our college. We understood how important a teacher is in over life. It also help realize the valuable place that parents hold in our life.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone for organized that wonderful program.
